The Manor Royal business community celebrated outstanding contributions from people and companies within the Business District, at the inaugral Manor Royal Recognition Awards in May 2025.
The event at Crawley Town Football Club honoured individuals and companies who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to community engagement, environmental sustainability, employee well-being, and social responsibility.
Dozens and dozens of nominations were received, judged by an independent panel and shortlisted to three in each category.
Special guest Paralympic gold medallist Jodie Grinham MBE, who won gold and bronze at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, took part in an inspiring Q&A session hosted by Manor Royal BID Executive Director, Steve Sawyer. Jodie, who was born in Wales but grew up in Crawley and still lives locally, shared insights into her journey to elite sport, her early passion for archery, and the challenges she faced – including concealing her pregnancy in the build-up to her stunning Paralympic performance.
Jodie, born with a condition called Brachysyndactyly, has overcome significant obstacles to become one of the UK’s leading Paralympic archers. Her story resonated strongly with attendees and served as a powerful reminder of what determination and resilience can achieve.
