Tackling the perceived transport issues in Manor Royal continues to be seen as critical to our long-term success in sustaining and enhancing the attractiveness of the Business District with problems caused by inconsiderate, rogue and long-stay parking consistently highlighted as frustrations.
A parking permit scheme?
Manor Royal businesses have previously supported the idea of introducing a parking management plan for Manor Royal that would require permits to be purchased to park on public roads of the Business District and allow better control of available space for staff and visitors. However, COVID stalled introduction of the scheme in 2020.
Before it is progressed by the Local Authorities, the Manor Royal BID is undertaking a further consultation with Manor Royal businesses to make sure there is still support for the scheme.
No decision has yet been made
It is important to stress that NO decisions have yet been made by either the County or Borough Councils, who are ultimately responsible for how or if to proceed. There remains a great deal of discussion, and at least one further consultation exercise, before any scheme can be taken forward. We want to hear your views now so that we can represent those views to both Councils and inform the decision-making process.
