New electric vehicle will help Business Rangers keep Manor Royal safe and working while supporting the BID’s sustainability ambitions
Operated by Crawley-based Blue Light Security, the Business Rangers is a service provided by the Manor Royal Business Improvement District (BID) to help protect Manor Royal and deal with crime, security and community safety related issues. As the only dedicated security service to the area the Business Rangers also work closely with the police and the BID’s own in-house maintenance team to ensure Manor Royal continues to be great place to work and do business.
The introduction of the new electric vehicle, branded in the distinctive Manor Royal ribbon detail, will be used by the Business Rangers as they patrol the Business District while supporting the BID’s sustainability objectives for the area that also includes promotion of sustainable travel, increasing biodiversity and generating more of its energy from renewables.
This initiative is supported by E-Veezy, which operates Manor Royal’s flagship ultra-rapid EV charging hub at Northwood Park on Gatwick Road. E-Veezy is providing free charging for the Business Rangers vehicle, with charging support provided by Roam. E-Veezy’s Manor Royal site offers 27 high-power charging bays, with 200kW and 400kW charging available 24 hours a day.

The new electric vehicle adds to a growing range of sustainability initiatives being delivered across Manor Royal, from energy partnerships and sustainable travel initiatives to investment in green spaces and support for businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact.
Manor Royal BID’s Business Rangers service builds on the BID’s wider security provision, including area-wide ANPR and CCTV, Business Watch and close working relationships with Sussex Police and other partners.
