Business Rates valuations could change in 2026

The Valuation Office Agency is updating the rateable values of over 2 million non-domestic properties in England and Wales. This is known as a revaluation and happens every 3 years.

Rateable values are used to calculate business rates. We revalue properties to make sure bills are based on up-to-date and accurate information.

We’re contacting you as you have a business rates valuation account and there are things you can do now to get ready.

Find out more and see our full list of videos and guidance to help you at https://valuationoffice.blog.gov.uk/2025/09/29/revaluation-2026-everything-you-need-to-know/

New valuations will come into effect on 1 April 2026, with draft valuations published at the end of this month.
