19/05/2018 - BID Events Make a Big Impact in Crawley
Manor Royal Business District is celebrating the success of two major Expo’s that took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Crawley on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 May. The annual ‘Know your Neighbour’ event, exclusive to Manor Royal companies, welcomed a record number of exhibitors and businesses. This was complemented by the inaugural ‘Manor Royal Careers Expo’ the following day, which provided free work and training advice to local residents. Over 110 companies reached out to more than 580 people over the two days.

This year's keynote networking event of the year on Manor Royal - the Know Your Neighbour Expo - is set to be the largest ever held on the business district. It's a full house with 73 companies exhibiting at the event and more than 280 people registered to attend the free event.

For many years Virgin has worked hard to reduce their catering waste. For example, they have removed 217,524 disposable hot drink cups per year from their waste by replacing them with china cups. More recently, Virgin has been working with their catering team to see how they can reduce plastic disposables and become more sustainable in their approach to providing catering services to their staff and visitors.

Crawley STEMfest was officially launched on Manor Royal recently with a raucous evening of comedy and inspiring talks. Representatives from local industry and education attended the event at the new Elekta Cornerstone building on the Manor Royal Estate. An innovative space fitting for the launch of a STEMfest looking to inspire the next generation to pursue science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) careers through hands-on workshops, shows and demonstrations throughout May and June.
30/04/2018 - New teambuilding days with Jet Masterclass Pilot Training
Jet Masterclass is opening its doors in Lloyds Court, Manor Royal enabling local companies to use their pilot training facility and flight simulator for team building. Your team can access their pilot training facility and flight simulator, where they’ll operate as a pilot (and land!) a Boeing 737. They will put into practice a variety of skills including communication, decision making, leadership and crew resource management, ensuring safe and efficient flight.

Fleming Way based Avensys Ltd has been recognised at the Innovative Electrical Retailing Magazine Awards 2018 for the second year running. The company won in the following categories: 'Best IER Retailer'; ‘Best Large Independent Consumer Electronics Retailer’; ‘Best Independent Retailer Superstore Showroom’ and one of its employees, Paul Haywood won ‘IER Best Young Gun’.

Manor Royal-based company Brand Packaging Solutions Ltd, who specialise in brand packaging and product procurement, have recently acquired Big RED Branding.co.uk. This partnership expands the local business’s product portfolio from composite gift sets and custom designed packaging to now include promotional merchandise, branded clothing and workwear.
02/03/2018 - CGG reaches out to Local Community
Following the relocation of 150 staff from annex buildings to its main Crompton Way site, CGG has donated more than 600 items of ‘good as new’ surplus furniture to local charities. Working with STEMSussex, Crawley Voluntary Services and suggestions from employees, the company has helped 50 schools and many local charities.
02/03/2018 - Businesses Vote Overwhelmingly for Manor Royal BID
Businesses located in Manor Royal, Crawley have voted to extend the Manor Royal Business Improvement District (BID) for a further five years following a formal, independent ballot. As a result, c£2.6m, generated from the Levy, will be invested to improve the business district over the next five years, along with any additional funds the BID team secures from third parties.

A new study reveals the growing importance of Manor Royal and its impact in terms of jobs, business and its contribution to the economy.
The Economic Impact Study, jointly commissioned by the Manor Royal BID and Crawley Borough Council, was conducted by leading economic and regeneration consultants, Lichfields, to assess how well the Business District is performing and what it needs to do to remain competitive.
05/02/2018 - Manor Royal BID Ballot now Open
Businesses entitled to vote in the BID Renewal Ballot should now have their ballot papers and can vote. All businesses responsible for a property of £12,000 rateable value or more located in the proposed BID area are entitled to vote in the postal ballot and have until 5pm on 1st March to return their ballot paper.

In line with the rules governing the creation and renewal of Business Improvement Districts (BIDs), the Notice of Ballot has been sent to all businesses entitled to vote in the upcoming Manor Royal BID Renewal Ballot. All BIDs have to follow strict rules for conducting a BID Ballot, a postal ballot that will decide whether the Manor Royal BID continues for another five years.

15/01/2018 - Manor Royal Business Improvement District (BID) Seeks New 5-Year Term
The Manor Royal BID in Crawley has published an ambitious Business Plan for a new five-year term and is urging businesses on Manor Royal to vote in its renewal Ballot on 1 February.
If businesses vote to renew the BID, this will generate a fund of circa £2.6m over a five-year period to be reinvested across the business district, along with any additional funds the BID team secures from other parties.
