Latest Update on Gateway 3
The final phase of works to complete the upgrade to one of Manor Royal’s main entry points is about to commence on Monday 11th July.
Previous works to Gateway 3, comprising the area of the roundabout on London Road at the junction with Betts Way and Fleming Way near to Astral Towers, to undertake the chevron paving and to the roundabout and prepare the foundations for the sculpture were completed in May.
The next phase – broken into discrete activities - will involve the installation of the sculpture (11-15 July), new landscaping and seeding (18 July to 12 August) and the completion of the chevron paving for the permanent maintenance access (15-29 August).
The first phase will involve some traffic management and lane closures on Monday 11th July and Tuesday, 12th July between 930am and 330pm on both days.
After that the main work is confined to the centre of the roundabout so will not require lane closures, hopefully keeping disruption to a minimum.
Further lane closures will be necessary towards the end of August to allow the final chevron paving to be installed, about which more details will be provided nearer the time.
For now details of the lane closures during Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th July can be viewed here.
