Pocket Park Proposals
In response to business requests, Manor Royal BID is developing a new project that will see improvements to neglected land at the corner of London Road and Manor Royal road.
The BID is proposing to create a new outdoor area or ‘Pocket Park’ which includes landscaping, paving, outdoor table tennis and informal seating areas where people can meet, eat and relax in the fresh air.
The BID has commissioned Allen Scott Landscape Architects to prepare final designs which will be submitted for planning approval shortly, with a view to work commencing in the autumn.
Improving facilities for people working on Manor Royal was highlighted as an issue in a recent survey conducted by the BID. It is also well known that among the numerous considerations employers have when choosing premises, the quality of the local environment and nearby facilities rank highly.
The BID team hopes that this new proposed facility will follow the success of the award-winning regeneration of Crawter’s Brook by engendering a greater sense of wellbeing among those working nearby.
The project will be part funded by the Manor Royal BID with contributions from B&CE and Crawley Borough Council.
