Go Vauxhall Crawley-sponsored teams enjoy a day out at Wembley Stadium
Boys and girls from local football teams, sponsored by Go Vauxhall Crawley, were invited to the home of English football for a special tour and were surprised by an international footballer.
The Fleming Way-based dealership sponsor Oriel High School Girls under 12s, Ifield Community College Boys under 18s, Pound Hill Junior School and Horsham Youth.
Players from these teams were mid-way through their tour of Wembley Stadium when England and Arsenal footballer Kieran Gibbs appeared. The youngsters then got the chance to ask the defender questions and pose for pictures with him.
Lisa Stevens, Go Vauxhall's Group Business Development Consultant, said each of Go Vauxhall's dealerships sponsor a grass-roots football team. "It's important that Vauxhall reach out to the community where we can," she explained. "This has given some of our youth teams a fabulous football kit that they may not have otherwise afforded."
Graham Masters, General Sales Manager at Go Vauxhall on Manor Royal, added: "It was a real joy to see the look on the faces of the boys representing Pound Hill Junior School when they went to Wembley and met Kieran Gibbs.
"Local schools are the real grass roots of football but sadly, due to funding pressures, cannot always get the kits and equipment they need. We have provided kits for three local schools in Crawley so far and are keen to sponsor one or two more."
