Manor Royal firms to benefit from discounted training courses
Companies located on Manor Royal may now access a series of subsidised training courses for their employees, courtesy of the Manor Royal BID.
For the first time, a programme of training courses has been arranged by the BID, working in conjunction with Central Sussex College. Click here to view the leaflet issued by the college for Manor Royal businesses.
The initial programme of courses has been developed to enhance business skills, comply with health and safety qualification requirements and develop specialist IT knowledge.
The initiative is one of a number the Manor Royal BID Company has been delivering over the past three years.
Steve Sawyer, Manor Royal BID's Executive Director, said the training sessions will provide a great opportunity for firms to train their staff alongside fellow Business District companies.
"There are plenty of benefits to this initiative," Mr Sawyer said. "Companies will be able to enjoy significant savings on professional training courses that will be delivered on their doorstep, at locations they are familiar with, avoiding the cost and inconvenience of travelling miles to get the training they need."
The purpose of the Manor Royal BID, which is run by Manor Royal companies and is the largest of its kind in the UK, is to improve the trading and working environment of Crawley's key employment centre.
The work of the BID is informed by its agreed business plan and this initiative is about helping to support business and staff development in a cost-efficient way while, at the same time, helping to connect Manor Royal companies.
Andy Forbes, Executive Director of Business Development at Central Sussex College, added: "We are delighted to be working with the Manor Royal BID to offer a programme of high quality short training courses for Manor Royal businesses at heavily discounted prices."
There are currently 10 courses scheduled between September and December, on topics including: Presenting for Success, Emergency First Aid at Work and Social Media.
Mr Sawyer added: "All BID levy payers can also receive a 20 per cent discount on short courses and 10 per cent discount on any professional courses delivered at the college's Horsham Training Centre.
"It is our hope that this proves popular and becomes a regular part of our work to further enhance the attractiveness of Manor Royal as a place to do business."
