Manor Royal Arts and Heritage Trail

The Manor Royal BID has been awarded an Arts Council Lottery Grant to develop an Arts and Heritage Trail based on the history and stories of Manor Royal through the years.

The project, is one of many identified in the Manor Royal Projects Pack, to create a network of "micro-park" areas across the Business District to provide new facilities, seating, outdoor meeting places and wayfaring.

The first phase of the project involves gathering the stories, memories and photos of Manor Royal across the years, including present day, of those companies and people who have worked here and helped to make the place what it is.

"We want people to share their Manor Royal memories with us," said Steve Sawyer, Executive Director of the Manor Royal BID, "They can be fact, fiction, funny or fairy tale. However, big or small it may seem we want to capture it all to help create the trail."

The idea is to use these collective memories to produce a series of artist briefs to inspire the final design of the park areas. The end result will be something meaningful and creative that celebrates the unique story of one of the Country's biggest business parks.

Richard Wolfrstrome is the creative lead on the project who has extensive experience of similar projects.

A series of workshops are being held throughout July for businesses and the general public where they will be invited to share their stories, memories and photos with everyone being warmly encouraged to get involved.
