Metrobus Fastway – smarter way to travel
The Metrobus Fastway bus service to Gatwick airport now has USB charging points – optimised for smart phones – at every seat. All 20 buses on the Fastway services 10 and 20, which carries staff to and from Gatwick and Manor Royal, and shoppers coming into town from Broadfield and Bewbush, have been fitted with the devices which are lit up for easy visibility.
Metrobus Managing Director Martin Harris said: “We’ve invested in USB chargers because we know this is a busy commuting route and want to make the experience as efficient for our customers as possible. So now, they can charge up their phone on their way to work and not have to worry about arriving with a low battery.
“There’s a lot of exciting business growth in this area that will attract more workers – but no one in today’s society wants that to result in more cars on the road. We aim to make bus travel as convenient and accessible as possible so we can get people out of cars and onto public transport.
“This is just another way we make the bus all round good value and a viable and attractive alternative for busy people.”
Average journey times on the Fastway 10 and 20 run from 20-25 minutes. The service runs up to every six minutes, 24 hours a day.
