Manor Royal businesses urged to have a say on Crawley town centre improvements
Businesses from across Crawley are invited to view and comment on design ideas for a multi-million pound investment into the town centre's Queens Square.
The ideas have been developed by urban designers Burns + Nice following public consultation earlier this year that explored how people currently use the square, what they think of it and how they would like to use it in the future.
The area has been experiencing a decline in its popularity as a shopping destination and is in need of modernisation. £3m of investment from Crawley Borough Council and West Sussex County Council is set to revitalise the square with work due to start late next year.
The councils want to know what local businesses think of the ideas and the feedback received will be used to help designers create the final design proposal.
Visitors to the event will be encouraged to put their ideas and concerns forward as well as considering which elements could be integrated to create the most effective and attractive space for everyone.
The drop-in session will take place at the Civic Hall, next to the Town Hall on The Boulevard, between 10.30am and 1pm on Thursday 27 November 2014. Officers from Crawley Council and WSCC as well as the design team from Burns + Nice will be on hand to answer questions and listen to comments.
