Help Virgin to save the planet!
For many years Virgin has worked hard to reduce their catering waste. For example, they have removed 217,524 disposable hot drink cups per year from their waste by replacing them with china cups. More recently, Virgin has been working with their catering team to see how they can reduce plastic disposables and become more sustainable in their approach to providing catering services to their staff and visitors.
From the 16th April Virgin embarked on their next bold step to reduce plastic use by removing 60% of plastics from their catering, switching over 65,000 disposable plastics to glass and increasing the number of glass bottle recycling bins in pantries & hub areas.
Alongside this, Virgin have launched new signage on their bins across various sites from Monday 16th April to help show which waste should go where and to give people more opportunities to recycle whilst at work.
Virgin are committed to making the change on their sites and are interested in working with other Manor Royal companies who are interested in doing the same.
